- Description
This vanila fir honey is harvested from honeydew, produced by the insect Physokermes hemicryphus in the black fir forests of Mount Mainalo. And more specifically in the area delimited around Alonistaina and Vytina, villages of Arcadia in the Peloponnese at more than 1000 m altitude.
It is a rare honey, opaque in color with pearly reflections with golden nuances, an aftertaste reminiscent of vanilla.
To be enjoyed with a little cottage cheese or yogurt, this honey from Greece offers the promise of a sweet dessert.
